Blimey….we weren’t expecting this genius track when we picked up on it. King Krule has done something quite magical with the track ‘The Noose Of Jah City’ that’s a cross between Portishead, Jack Peñate and Jamie T. Sound good, bizarre or both? Check this guy out!!!
Two words….Swiss Lips!!! What a great name for a band and what a great track we’ve got with ‘U Got The Power’.
A few Avicii’s more!!! Smoke and Mirrors from LA have worked up an absolute vocal mix treat of Avicii’s ‘Silhouettes’ with a cracking sample of Calvin Harris’ featuring Kelis track ‘Bounce’.
Project 46 have brought us a mashup of epic proportions. Take the Avicii track ‘Levels’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey and we’ve got a hot hot track that is for from cheesy. In fact, it’s a mother of a track indeed!!!
The Hilltop Hoods are back….and they’ve brought another quality singer from Australia along for the ride with Sia featuring on their track ‘I Love It’ and you know what, we love it too!!!!
What a cheeky track this is!!! Lupe Fiasco has taken the track ‘Midnight City’ by M83 and quite simply layered over some blissful vocals that have taken the original to another quality level.
Tensnake is the man who has the gifts and he keeps on giving. You know what, I think this one might be one of his best gifts yet. I was only thinking of the track Everything (in it’s right place) by Radiohead yesterday and low and behold, Tensnake gives us an Edit.
‘Fire Fly’ by Childish Gambino has that summertime vibe that Will Smith had going on a couple of decades ago. It’s the kind of track that would make you drop the windows down on a hot summer’s day when you’re cruising by the beach.
In our previous post, we mentioned how much 2011 has been a year of cover versions. It’s also fair to say that it has also been the year of the remix (well, it has been in the land of Your Music Radar). A remix that is going down quite nicely at the moment is the...
We reckon 2011 has been the year of the cracking cover version. Look back and you’ll see several great covers, including Mr Little Jeans, Deadmau5 and how about this one by Birdy with the cover version of Phoenix’s ’1901′.
Hmmmm! Interesting selection of tracks to be mashed here. But..and it’s a big but (and I cannot lie) this works so well. We love JJ (check them out) and this smash mash with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg is great work by Hype Jones.
HLM has done it again with an outstanding electro house remix of Lights and her track ‘Siberia’.
It’s fair to say that we are floating in blissville right now at this very moment. Why I hear you ask? Well, Maya Jane Coles has brought us her mighty mighty fine ‘Don’t Put Me In Your Box’ EP and we are loving it. LOVING IT!!!
The Ting Tings have a new track out called ‘Silence’ and it’s been remixed by the good old boys ‘The Bag Raiders’. A pairing of quality on both sides of the ocean.
There is a lot of good good music coming out of Australia at the moment, but the one artist that is really getting us excited is Oliver Tank. This guy has got what it takes to give us something quite special and he couldn’t be picking a better time to give it to us.
