Could it be that OzHop is evolving into something that with every recent new release was becoming more and more inconceivable; something that is actually good? The Herd have long been at the forefront of non-generic OzHop and based upon the evidence presented in “Pocket Full of Dreams”, it appears as though Diafrix are going...
It wasn’t exactly the day the music died, but still when one of your favourite bands decides to call it a day, it is a bit sad. And that is exactly what this was as The Beautiful Girls bade farewell for the last time with a series of gigs at The Corner. After 10 years...

It was somewhat fitting that The Smashing Pumpkins aka The Billy Corgan Experience were headlining Splendour 2012. Their clip for Bullet with Butterfly Wings summed up their whole weekend quite neatly; awesome music, mob mentality descending as all and sundry were swept up in a sea of animal onesies and finally mud, lots of mud....

Our roving gig radar Aymeric de Rosbo has been out again on the trail of a good concert and dropped us a fine two for one review of The Raveonettes & The Brian Jonestown Massacre gig at The Forum in Melbourne. Don’t mention DiG! though…
Cultural cringe is an interesting phenomenon. Something that you should be theoretically proud of leaves you rocking back and forth in the foetal position and filled with an innate sense of dread. Ozhop fits extremely comfortably in this category.

Well, as they say, if you don’t shoot you don’t score!!! That was our motto when we were notified we won a ballot/ticket to catch the SXSW performance of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. What a SXSW it has been.
When you are at SXSW, fate plays a glorious part in getting to some awesome gigs. A classic example of this was last night when we ‘attempted’ to get into the Hype Machine Hotel gig last night for Miike Snow and Madeon and bypassed to Crystal Fighters instead.

Another mighty fine track from Active Child that has been given the quality remix touch. This time the remix comes courtesy of White Arrows on the track ‘Johnny Belinda’.
Hmmmm. Not sure about these tracks at all. On one hand you’ve got a stellar artist listing (on paper) for the track ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ but as far as the quality of the track goes, the jury is out here. Not that it matters though as it will probably be downloaded, streamed and...
Can the Remix Artist Collective (RAC) do no wrong with their mixes? Just listen to their remix of the track ‘Concrete Wall’ by Zee Avi and you’ll know just what we mean. This is quite something.
