Another installment drops of YMR’s mixtapes. We’re started to get into some regular feature territory at the moment. We’re gonna be doing regular mixtapes, and weekly/monthly playlists to keep a track of everything that is floating our audio boat right past, present and future.
We’re starting up some regular features from this month onwards after feedback saying “can we get playlists of the tracks YMR is recommending so we can play it on lazy work afternoons?” so we thought we’d oblige. We’re gonna start hitting you up with monthly Spotify playlists and from next week we’ll also hit you...

It’s an epic track from an epic combo. It’s a sure fire #1 for Hype Machine. It’s The Knocks featuring St. Lucia with the track ‘Modern Hearts’. Seriously. Does it get any better or closer than this?
Boy does this mashup work. It is 24 ct’s of solid gold remix. To quote Thriftshop XL, “It does what it says on the tin”. Spot on!
This one starts a little odd but soon slips into Giraffage remix territory in now time. Janet Jackson’s track ‘Someone To Call My Lover’ given a modern twist but also a retro feel too. Perfect.
We do love a good Yeah Yeah Yeah remix as they’re few and far between. This one fortunately ticks the boxes and floats our remix boat!
YES! Madeaux drops a fine remix of Kenrdick Lamar’s ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’. Ain’t no vibes being killed here by Madeaux. It’s all eargold ahoy.
This is awesome! Taylor Swift mixed featuring Hans Inglish. It sounds natural. It sounds perfect. It’s just what the doctor ordered to get us over the hump day.
Look. I’m not psychic but even I can tell you that one look at the line up on this track is sure to make one tidy track for the ears. I’m not sure how many sad ballads about Friday nights have been written but this ain’t one of them. No sir! Far from it!
We are counting down to the release of Little Boots 2nd album Nocturnes and we can’t wait I tell you! Fortunate then that a remix of ‘Broken Record’ has dropped and we can keep the goodness flowing until the album drops.
I can tell you this! Apple auto correct does not like the word WMNSTUDIES at all. Fortunately we love it, love the mixes and especially love this mix.
Well then. Here’s another fine mix you’ve gotten me into. Ta-Ku taps up a fine version of Australia’s man of the moment Flume and his track with Chet Faker ‘Left Alone’.
Owl Eyes drops the title track from her forthcoming album ‘Nightswim’ as a free download. You better get in quick as this won’t be up for long. Not only is it free, it is another example of how mighty her debut album is going to be.
Yum to this! Mist Glider and Aeropsia drop an exquisite remix of XXYYXX and the track ‘About You’. Definite eargold time folks!
Sea At Last drop their album Atlas on 2nd May and we have been a follower of this band since we first put them on our radar back in December last year. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the album to drop and for the adulation that they deserve to start rolling in.
Cillie Barnes drops her new track ‘Brainwash’ and it’s labelled Gyp-Hop! A fair assessment. It’s definitely a firecracker of a track. Boom!
Former Little Birdy front woman Katy Steele drops her first track from her forthcoming EP and album which she has been writing and recording in New York for the last couple of years.
The magic remix touch from Monsieur Adi continues with this take on the track ‘Streets’ from Abby. Love it!
Well this is quite epic. LA’s Bad Things drop a stunner track ‘Caught Inside’ laden with anthemic vibes. It’s a big one!
We told you we had a sausage sizzle of house bangers coming this weekend. We didn’t have this on our radar until about half an hour ago and it’s a stealth bomb of a remix that might just be one of the best mixes we’ve posted this year.
Watch out. There’s a pun coming. I tried to avoid it but I can’t. DrDr have dropped their new track ‘Addicted’ from the No Compromise EP. I’ve just watched the video and listened to the track 3 times back to back. It is fair to say that I’m ADDICTED to this track. There…I got it...
We have another radar full of audio goodness here for the weekend and an inbox packed out with more bangers than a sausage factory. It sounds like a perfect time to dose you up with some Cloud Sizzlers. Do you want some more cheese on that?
I get why this is going off online now. All I can say is BOOM! to that. Will it last? Who cares, it’s this weekend that counts right?
With The Cardigans and their track Erase/Rewind hitting the top #50 on Hype Machine, it made us hark back to one of our favourite remix EPs ever by Nåid. The 5 track EP has some of the slickest and funk filled tracks we’ve loved in a long time and that Erase/Rewind remix magic is still...
This is excellent. We’re big fans of The Penelopes and of the original of this track and the new mix is just sweeeeet! Tinkered with enough to make it upbeat and disco house’like but they’ve kept it true to the original.
They say that keeping it simple is sometimes the best idea. Man From Lucania drops an edit of both Daft Punk Saturday Night Live Ad snippets and keeps the original elements but with a little twist.
The Chainsmokers know how to whack a remix track out or two but this one is dare we say one of their best, if not THE best? There…we said it. It’s bloody good though.
There’s definitely something Florence and Bat For Lashes’like going on her in these infectious songs from Boston’s R. Thomasin. You know it’s good when you click through a variety of soundcloud tracks and it’s not just a one off.
Up until a few days ago GodWolf were not on our music radar at all. However, after listening to their tracks and catching this new video we are firmly locked and loaded on what is set to be a band to watch going forward in 2013, 2014 and well beyond.
Bondax plus Amtrac equals an edit of ‘Gold’ of some very fine proportions. I love this track in its original format and this new edit seriously does do it for me.
