Breaking news this morning is that the very talented Kimbra has romped home first in the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition with her fabulous song Cameo Lover.
Not only did she win 1st place but her magic dust was also sprinkled on the 3rd place song too. Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ came in 3rd place and that track also features Kimbra, so that’s a first and a third place for Kimbra.
We’ve been following Kimbra’s trajectory this year (she’s been on our 2011 Watchlist since January) and things are on the up and up for her musical talents in 2011 and beyond. We can’t wait for her forthcoming album to be released and if the the songwriting is as consistent with the track Cameo Lover, the world will be her oyster.
