Kimbra – Two Way Street + Remixes

2011 was a mighty year for Kimbra (she was on our 2011 watch list too) with her ‘Best Female Artist’ ARIA award and the bonus combo of featuring on the also mighty Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know. Not content with just having a stellar year, Kimbra is forging a mightier path into 2012 with her new release ‘Two Way Street’ and a spot of SXSW action in Austin, Texas. All that bit closer to world domination!!!

Remixes on the new release come from Australian minimal/house prodigy Beni whose remix credits include the likes of Tiga and Digitalism and L.A. native dub-stepper PatrickReza who boasts remix scalps for Lana Del Rey, M83 and SBTRKT. Not a bad set of credentials for mixes on your EP.

If you know what is good for you, you’ll not only check out the tracks below but you’ll make some time to check out the Sing Sing Studios Live Video which just goes to show how awesome Kimbra is in a live environment.

We first caught Kimbra back in early 2011 when she supported Gypsy & The Cat at The Hi-Fi Bar in Melbourne. It was an extremely hard working year for Kimbra with the amount of live and studio performances she had to rock up…but….dividends are definitely being cashed in now.

Check out the wondrous tunes below and watch out for our coverage of Kimbra in SXSW in March!!!
