Buchanan – No Photo EP

Buchanan’s No Photo EP  out 29th April 2011

I first saw Buchanan when they were supporting Gypsy & The Cat at The Hi-Fi Bar (Melbourne) in January 2011. They were very very good and the ‘spider sense’ was definitely telling me that they are destined for great things.

Their No Photo EP is definitely well worth a listen and is on my iPod playlist on repeat at the moment (I picked a copy of this EP at the gig pre-release and the band very kindly sent through a copy of the EP pre-release to me which was greatly appreciated and has been stuck on repeat since).

The track ‘Waiting’ is a real gem. Turn it up to 11. Teachers harks back to when Arcade Fire were good on their first album. In fact, all of the tracks on their debut EP are outdtanding.

They’re in soon to be production for filming the video for one of their next EP tracks, rumoured to be by the director who recently did the video to Kimbra’s forthcoming release of Cameo Lover.

These are exciting times ahead in 2011 and beyond for Buchanan and I for one, look forward to observing their journey. They have been on my watch list for 2011 since the star of the year and you should add them to yours too as the flood gates on great reviews are about to opened over the coming weeks.

I recommend you get onboard and stop reading this, get on iTunes and make a purchase. It was out 29th April on iTunes in Australia, so get your order in now (buy it and don’t download it illegally!!).

In the meantime check out ‘Teachers’ for yourself below and catch them at the Northcote Social Club this week:
