Monica Heldal – Wallowa Lake

Now here’s a classic pop folk song to stir the senses. Monica Heldal’s ‘Wallowa Lake’ is lyrically and acoustically in the early Bruce Springsteen ball park kind of area (without the Jeep Ad and the DWI). In fact, if The Boss sang this, you’d swear it was one he’d written, this is that good.

Monica Heldal is a Norwegian musician and singer-songwriter who has topped the charts in her homeland and won wide praise for her unique mix of americana, indie pop and folk. Her calibre and track record (she has received two Norwegian Grammy Awards and The Bendiksen Award) definitely shows in this track and we love it. We have dug into her back catalogue after hearing this track and it is all quite sensational.

If there was ever a track that was an audio representation of a beautiful flowing Norwegian waterfall, this would come pretty close.
