Everyone is hungry for Adele mixes at the moment and we area no exception. The difference with this track is that the Atom Christie remix is very very creative and hasn’t just gone for a remix touch but more of a reworking of the track. An exceptional dubstep version in fact.
Washed Out are due to release their album Within and Without on 11th July (UK), 12th July (US) and 15th July (AUS). This is a follow up to their EP releases of ‘Life of Leisure’ and ‘High Times’ which came out back in 2009. The new album has been produced by Ben Allen who worked...
This track was pretty good on the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach and the Feed Me Remix is even better. It’s got extra beats and some very stripped down segments which make the track better overall.
Swide and Dolce & Gabbana present the new video to Florrie’s track ‘I Took A Little Something’. This track features on Florrie’s new Experiments EP which is was selling well across the globe late last week and earlier this week on iTunes. A bit of global charting for Florrie.
Wow. I’ve always loved this song. Bon Iver has done this song justice and more. If you know the song already, you’ll love it. If you haven’t heard this before….you love it. I think the last good cover of this track was by George Michael on Songs From The Last Century.
Hmmm. I always though that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah had a sound of David Byrne going on but this track takes that up a level to Bob Dylanville.
Knights of The Playboy Mansion is a Defected Records release featuring Bob Sinclair and Dimitri From Paris. Both discs by the talented vinyl spinners are packed with great disco tracks which are both old and new and bring some quality tracks along for the Playboy Mansion ride.
As their band profile suggests, Gorilla Warfare Tactics is a hip hop trio based out of New York City and their influences are definitely from old school hip hop plus newer artists that are out at the moment.
Adele is making a massive impact across the globe right now and deservedly so. The benefits to the masses are that we get great tunes from her albums but this time around the difference with 21 is that we are getting some quality remixes too.
I’m having fun. Digging out some old house classics and this one is a track that I struggled to get my hands on again.
Blimey Charlie…how good is this song? Quality…with the remix touch by RAC.
I think this line up beats the 2009 line up by a mile. Whether you’re hanging out for a sideshow or diving head first into the festival, this is an amazing line up and a half.
Florrie has just released her Experiments EP which is packed with 6 quality new tracks. This EP is a follow up to the Introduction EP which came out late last year and her musical talents are going from strength to strength.
If you’re a fan of the track Young Folks by Peter Bjorn & John, then you might just like this old track by Kanye West that has received a remix.
A big tune and a big garage house track for 2011. This track by Brighton’s Deadboy is hot hot hot!!! Future synth from a future hit maker. SebstiaAN’s album ‘Total’ is out now and this album is just plain phenomenal. Imagine crossing Daft Punk, Justice, Soulwax and Prince with a little bit of Chromeo!!! Sound good? That’s the kind of album you’ve got. I’ve only picked up on SebastiAn recently and ‘Total’ has just blown me away.
Take the track Heartbeats by the fine band The Knife, give it an accoustic reworking by Ellie Goulding and an edit touch by Cosmonaut Grechko and you’ve got yourself one mighty fine ballearic chill out track.
If you went to see the fantastic Amy Meredith on their recent Australia tour, you may have caught Bridgemary Kiss who were one of the great supporting bands. They’ve just put out some demo tracks that they’ve been working and I’d recommend that your give them a listen.
It’s all things Ibiza this week if you are heading out that way for party time 2011. Is there a better way to get you going than for Avicii to have the track ‘Levels’ out there for you to fist pump the night away!!!
With all things Kylie being quite topical in Australia this week with her tour hitting our shores, I thought I’d share some live and intimate tracks that are not available over here (tracks can only be purchased from America).
Imagine if you could bottle up the feeling of happiness and sell it? Imagine if sadness was a disease? If it was, then Yelle would be the vaccine as one listen of this album will have your happy endorphins working overtime.
The first big call of the week but this track is hands down one of the best ‘unheard’ tracks of 2011 so far. Mr. Little Jeans have taken what was a good track by The Arcade Fire and given it an ‘edgier’ slice of downbeat spooky synth.
If you were given a musical recipe and the ingredients were a dash of Dinosaur Junior, a pinch of The Pixies, a splash of Belly, a spoonful of Sugar (the band not the sweetener) and a cup of The Lemonheads then you would be close to summing up the sound of the band Yuck.
This track by Caribou (remixed by Pyramid) is hot to trot on global internet searches and online charts this week and understandably so. This one probably adds another to the week of haunting tracks for my website. Although this one is a little more upbeat that my previous posts this week.
