Oliver Tank – Dreams EP

There is a lot of good good music coming out of Australia at the moment, but the one artist that is really getting us excited is Oliver Tank.  This guy has got what it takes to give us something quite special and he couldn’t be picking a better time to give it to us.

We’ve picked up a preview of his forthcoming Dreams EP on SoundCloud and if you read one of our previous posts on the track ‘Last Night I Heard Everything In Slow Motion’, well let us put it this way, the tracks on the EP are as good if not better.  It’s a package of astounding quality!!!

The debut EP is out on Bandcamp next week (November 21st) and if you love Active Child, Glasser, Julianna Barwick, Washed Out or How To Dress Well then you’ve come to the right place.

We’ll just say it again….this EP is stunning work for a debut artist!  Stunning!  Please make sure you check out Oliver Tank as he is simply going to be hot hot property when we hit album release time (we’ll have to be patient though…don’t rush perfection).

We can’t wait to catch him live (he’s playing Melbourne in January 2012).  Hopefully he’ll be on a plane to Austin in March 2012 to get him previewed to the masses.  We’ll be there to catch him if he is.

Check out the EP below and get yourself on the Yes Please Records site or on iTunes:

Mary Anne Hobbs XFM “Absolutely beautiful”

Zan Rowe Triple J “All of us here at Triple J were just floored, it does have that auto-tuned James Blake vocal, but the economy of the strings in this song, the beautiful production… it’s warm, it’s got space, it’s just an instant fall in love tune.”

Polaroids of Androids Blog “this kind of brilliantly constructed, lite-orchestral fragility is so much more engaging that a bag of drugs and a few solid 808 thuds.”

Dom Alessio Triple J “Australia’s answer to James Blake? You know it. This tops the Awesome chart.”
