In just six months, awesome songstress and blogosphere phenomenon Lana Del Rey has sky-rocketed to the top of the charts and proven herself a bonefide music industry game-changer.
Now she’s taking over TV sets across America — she just confirmed upcoming performances on “Live with David Letterman” (February 2nd) and “Ellen”(Airdate TBD). This Saturday the 15th, Lana will make her US television debut on NBC’s Saturday Night Light with guest host Daniel Radcliffe.
Lana’s music has been called everything from from provacative to haunting to heart-wrenching. She’s won the hearts of music listeners everywhere, armed with the mystique of Dusty Springfield, the girl-next-door charm of Duffy, and the defiant charisma of Britney Spears. Lana was named one of the Top Aritsts to Watch in 2012 by The Huffington Post, MTV Buzzworthy, The Wrap, Global Grind, Esquire, and Sugar Scape. BORN TO DIE was ranked as most anticipated album of the years by Stereogum, VH1, Complex, Muu Muse, KCRW, Gigwise, and BPM Magazine. Even Kanye West and the UK Prime Minister David Cameron have proclaimed themselves fans.
Last week, Lana inked a modeling contact with NEXT Model Management, the powerhouse agency that represents Florence Welch, Jessie J, Alexa Chung, and Ellie Golding. Previously, her music has been featured on soundtracks used by designers like Emilio de la Morena and Christopher Kane during their shows at London’s Fashion Week. Now she’ll make her own mark on the global fashion world.
